Weaving Irish ancestry, family, & memory into shared stories of resilience and healing.
There is a moment in the Round Table chapter where time collapsed, and the past did not seem distant at all; my ancestors seemed to pull up a chair and lovingly provide some healing advice for us as we navigate a troubled world. That chapter felt like a gathering place to me, where my ancestors could sit shoulder to shoulder with me. I want this space to be an extension of that round table, where we can reimagine our relationship to our ancestors- not just as names in a family tree or scrawled on the back of a faded photograph. Rather, they are real teachers: we carry their hopes and dreams forward- they cheer us on. So here, in this corner I will share some of the story behind the story. There are photographs to share as well.
More importantly, this is a place to let the book breathe beyond its covers. If The Ground Between Us stirred something in you, follow it. That stirring is an invitation- to know yourself better, and to fully appreciate just how much you stand on their shoulders. The book opened a door; this space is where we step through it together, one story at a time. Tell me yours!
